How do our actions lead to change in today's world? How has the internet transformed the media and the channels of influence on public opinion? And what kinds of news and photo-journalism are emerging to connect people with politics?

In October 2008 James Nachtwey, winner of the TED Prize 2007, unveiled a landmark body of work about XDR-TB – the culmination of his wish to 'break a story of global significance in new and innovative ways'.

An international coalition of partners, including Demos, helped TED and Nachtwey raise awareness about this little-known but deadly disease. The project was also a test case for how images and networks can inspire change in the age of the internet.

TED and Demos are delighted to host a salon of experts in the stunning new Kings Cross Hub to cast a critical eye over the campaign and discuss the new politics of images. What happened, what worked and what didn't? What have we learned and what has changed?

There will also be a presentation of James Nachtwey's new images and the TED Prize, an exhibition of Demos' Emergency Room experiment during the campaign, and drinks.

Please join us for what promises to be an un-missable event.
